Here we are on the darkest day of the year for 2020! The winter solstice. With sunrise at 09.29 and sunset at 15.42 there isn’t much daylight up here in Stavanger during winter. 6 hours 11 minutes and 14 seconds to be precise. Luckily summer is the opposite! I’ll share some more about winter vs summer in the coming months when I’m excited about the sun coming back.

At Nordic Terrain Academy we believe that the weather patterns that drift across Stavanger provide perfect conditions to challenge us. Rain, hail, or shine, Stavanger can host 4 seasons in an hour let alone a day. If it were sunny and 25 degrees every day, things would be too easy and boring. The monotony would drive us all crazy! We don’t promise to host an always dry and warm summer camp. It sure isn’t the mediterranean up here. The Nordic weather will bring you spontaneity.

During the summer months the temperature can vary between 14 and 32 degrees. Sometimes its blue skies and calm for weeks on end and sometimes it rains sideways! 😀 Great life experience I say. The hard times make the good times great!

The beauty of Nordic weather conditions lie in the unpredictability. The adversity that we may face, makes us flexible and better equipped to deal with changes and challenges. Connect the dots to your own life; things rarely go exactly as we planned. Are you ready for the next hailstorm in your life? Maybe, maybe not, but embrace it, be resilient and seek to find the positives from every situation until the sun shines.

At NTA we are going to have an EPIC summer whatever the weather and we can’t wait for you to join us. If you don’t want to get stuck in the herd, get out here and live a little.

You’re heading north……. As I’ve heard many times in Norway, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.” Don’t worry, we will provide you with a comprehensive packing list.

Merry Christmas (God Jul)
